Hiking Safety
Hiking Safety: Nothing can replace good common sense.

-
Always a good idea to know where you are and where you are going during a hike.

-
Everyone should have a trail map or GPS hiking app available. What would you do if you, or your event organizer, had an emergency and had to separate from the group?

-
Hydration: You are required to bring your own snacks and enough water as you require.

-
Footwear: Hiking footwear is always recommended. Other options may not be suitable or safe.

-
Clothing: Be aware of local weather events as weather can be unpredictable. Light colored clothing is recommended and backup rain gear is always encouraged.

-
Sunscreen or insect repellant for those who may require it.

-
First Aid: A small, basic first aid kit is always good to have in your backpack.

-
We will hike as a group but may become separated due to various hiking paces. The person(s) in front should ALWAYS stop and wait for the group at every trail intersection.
