Cat Gap, Art Loeb, Cedar Rock Falls Loop. Strenuous  8m 2000ft

I’ve never been to this area so this 8 mile, 2000’ loop hike will visit the Cat Gap, Art Loeb, and Butter Gap trails in the Pisgah National Forest.  We will pass Grogan Creek Falls and Cedar Rock Falls towards the end of the loop.

The hike is rated as “Strenuous” by the National Park Service with a rating of 179.  Strenuous hikes will challenge most hikers. The terrain will involve steady and steep inclines.

We will meet at 9:45 AM at the “Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education” 1401 Fish Hatchery Rd, Pisgah Forest, NC.  This location is available in both Google Maps and Waze navigation. My vehicle will be displaying an American flag.  Be sure you are familiar with the meetup location prior to your departure.  Many of these trail heads do not have cell service.

We will begin the hike promptly at 10:00 AM.
