By signing up for my hiking events, you are acknowledging that you are fully capable of handling the physical requirements of the hike and will take sole responsibility for yourself in the event you become separated from the group. We hike at a steady pace and usually take a break or two to enjoy the scenery… if available. Bring a trail map in the event you find the hike too fast or difficult and need to return back to the trailhead.
We will meet at 9:45 AM at the “Bull Gap Trailhead - Rattlesnake Lodge Trail, 667 Ox Creek Rd, Weaverville, NC”. This location is available in both Google Maps and Waze navigation. Park on the Ox Creek road about half a mile from the intersection with the Elk Mountain road. There are 2 parking areas, choose the one that is further down from Elk Mountain Road. Parking is very small there, but you can park on the left side of the road (coming from Elk Mountain Rd). Be sure you are familiar with the meetup location prior to your departure. Many of these trailheads do not have cell service.
We will begin the hike promptly at 10:00 AM.
